Psalm 47

Psalm 47

God is God whether we worship Him or not. God is not just my God but God of all nations. God rules over the universe. We can either praise Him or ignore Him. Our decision does not make any dent to God! When we praise God, God will be glorified by us! When we ignore God, God is still glorified by others! It is just we who need to decide whose side we are going to take.: “Clap your hands, all you peoples; shout to God with loud songs of joy. For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome, a great king over all the earth.”

Once we take God’s side, we are on top of the world because God is the King and Ruler of the universe. We do not need to use any violence or weapons. We are with God and that is enough. When we choose God, God chooses us. God chooses those who choose God: “He subdued peoples under us, and nations under our feet. He chose our heritage for us, the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah”

When we have position, possession, talent, or any privilege, we should not boast ourselves. It is not we who make all those proud achievement. It is God who allows all of that. We simply walk with God and it is God’s work that we enjoy. Any praise and credit should belong to God: “God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the king of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm. God is king over the nations;    God sits on his holy throne. The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted.”

God! You are awesome!
