Psalm 82

Psalm 82

We have the supreme Judge to rely on!

When things are getting worse here on earth, we feel frustration. Whatever we do, we cannot make the world a better place and we feel hopeless. However, as soon as we realize that there is another dimension, we restore our hope. Yes, there is an ultimate Judge who will judge the quick and the dead. When the psalmist was disappointed by the rulers of the earth, she saw the vision and heard the voice of the supreme judge, God!

“God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: ‘How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah! Give justice to the weak and the orphan;    maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.’ They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk around in darkness;    all the foundations of the earth are shaken.”

We can have hope for the final justice!

Because of this supreme Judge who would issue the final verdict of all universes, we have hope for the ultimate justice. Our concern is not our winning but our righteousness because we will ultimately stand before this Judge also.

“I say, ‘You are gods, children of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, you shall die like mortals, and fall like any prince.’ Rise up, O God, judge the earth; for all the nations belong to you!

Let us not be judges against others. Let us be holy and righteous in front of our Creator. Whatever happens in this life will be the seed of our eternal life. If we are dead in our mother’s womb we will be still born children. If we are alive here in our mothers’ womb we will be born as healthy and living children. We will stay here only for 10 months!
