Psalm 138

Psalm 138

Today I will keep praising God

If I pay attention to God’s works, I want to praise God. When I am lost in the middle of all the hectic worldly concerns I cannot see any reason to praise God. Now I know whether I am awake or not by what I am doing: Praising God is a sure sign of my soberness. I can see in my praising God that all the other efforts and pursuits are like worshipping false gods.

“I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness; for you have exalted your name and your word above everything.

There are thousands of reasons to praise God

Praising God is not one side communication. When I praise God, God also talks to me tenderly. God gives confirmation of my worth and value. I praise God and know that I am loved and protected by God.

“On the day I called, you answered me, you increased my strength of soul. All the kings of the earth shall praise you, O Lord, for they have heard the words of your mouth. They shall sing of the ways of the Lord,    for great is the glory of the Lord. For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly; but the haughty he perceives from far away.

I walk through the challenges of my life praising God

My faith journey is praise journey. Every time when I make turn I praise God. Whether I walk on a straight path or curved one I praise God. I praise God with joy even in the middle of my suffering.

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve me against the wrath of my enemies; you stretch out your hand, and your right hand delivers me. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
